Y Disglair yng Nghymru.

Having said that, the name sounds even more condescending in Welsh than it does in English*. Why not go for the pretend bilingualism of "Brights Cymru"?

*I know it's an old argument, and I don't want to get into it here, but it's what stops me identifying myself more closely with the movement.

Like yourself, I very much doubt whether I’d ever call myself a "Bright", but nevertheless, I believe that the movement needs my support.

Although other languages have perfectly accepted the word "Bright", I’m afraid the word just doesn’t work in Welsh due to the nature of the language. "Brights Cymru" breaks the rules of the Welsh language and to a Welsh speaker, it sounds pretty awful. "Disglair" is closest to the desired meaning of "Bright", and it creates the same image. I really can’t think of a better word, and I believe it’ll be accepted in the same way as the Welsh now use "hoyw" to mean "gay".
